When a storm hit Palm Island, Henry faced the challenges it brought with resilience. 'Throughout the whole week it was just all raining... landslides that happened. It was just hectic,' he recounts. Despite the chaos, he remained optimistic, enjoying the rainy weather. However, the storm's impact was significant, causing power outages and food shortages. 'Most all food would've went off... in the fridge, deep freezer and all that,' he recalls.
Henry believes in the community's ability to learn and prepare better for future storms. He suggests, 'Probably be more prepared next time... simple stuff like generating that canned food.' His hope for improvement is shared through his pragmatic approach to future preparedness.
