Community Resilience on Palm Island

Iris, a dedicated caseworker, speaks passionately about her role, "I enjoy the job and I believe my job is to support and empower women who are struggling." Her commitment highlights the community's focus on uplifting women facing challenges with alcohol, drugs, and basic living.

Andrea, another dedicated staff member, shares her enthusiasm for the women's group sessions held weekly. "I love looking forward to the woman... we actually sit down, yarn, do a lot of laughing," she says, underscoring the importance of these gatherings in fostering a sense of family and belonging.

Speaker 31 recalls, "We were blocked off there for a bit... no power," describing the challenges faced when roads were cut off and supplies were scarce.
