Looking back, my life's been a bit of a rollercoaster. Growing up in Mount Druitt was tough. We had fun, sure, but it wasn't easy. Being in a gang felt like belonging to something, even if it meant getting into trouble. The day I got arrested, it hit me hard. I realized then I'd made some bad choices.
In jail, life slowed down. It was tough, but it gave me time to think about where I went wrong. Lifting weights and getting stronger was one thing I could control. It helped me feel a bit better about myself.
Getting out of jail was scary and exciting at the same time. Life outside had moved on without me, and I had to figure out how to fit back in. Joe and the guys from the concrete job really helped me out. They didn't just give me work; they gave me a chance to start over.
Looking at everything, I've learned a lot. My past mistakes don't define me. What matters is how I move forward. I've had my ups and downs, but I'm working on making things better. That's what my story's all about – getting a second chance and trying to do better with it.
