The Netherlands
The Netherlands is where the Empathy Ledger Travel Diary methodology stops being a hypothesis and becomes a live program. YOPE International, coordinated by Ludmila Andrade with her colleague Veerle, has confirmed it can host an exchange between Australian young people from Mounty Yarns and Oonchiumpa and the YOPE Amsterdam cohort. The visit runs from Tuesday 16 July to Monday 22 July 2026, and it is the first time the bidirectional Travel Diary template will be used in both directions at once: each cohort writes in each other's books, the same template, the same hand-stitched register, on Country at each end. Beyond YOPE, the Netherlands also gives us Holland Circular Hotspot and the broader Dutch tradition of radical collaboration, gezelligheid, and social-enterprise infrastructure that punches wildly above its weight.
